Expedited Employment®

In 1992, Expediter Corporation created Expedited Employment®, a unique and aggressive nation-wide program, proven successful by helping thousands of injured individuals to return to work. By providing individuals with an opportunity to return to work in an environment they can control, their own homes, and with a job that accommodates their special needs by offering flextime and the ability to work within their physical capabilities, Expedited Employment provides the ideal work situation. Now, Expedited Employment not only employs those whose return to work options have been limited by disability, but it also provides career opportunities to individuals seeking the convenience and flexibility of working from their homes.

Expedited Employment is the first program to offer injured individuals sub-sedentary, gainful employment independent of the constraints and hassles of in-office hours or on-site supervision; we also offer real transitional return to work via varying assignments, keeping the employee interested and stimulated at the same time. The first to offer effective in-home training and supervision, Expedited Employment is now the fastest, most effective return to work solutions available to employers.

The Expedited Employment Program begins with your referral to Expediter Corporation for your injured employee. We then review a completed vocational assessment and all recent medical documents for the injured person and discuss with you if he or she is appropriate for the program. There is no charge for this program unless it is mutually agreed that we should move forward.

Expediter then works with local and national companies willing to offer a permanent, flexible work schedule to start the individual in a new career. Interviews and training can all be conducted in the employee’s own home, where he or she can begin working after an initial training session.

The positions that injured and disabled individuals are placed in are customer service / surveyor jobs, considered entry-level, home-based positions defined as unskilled and sub-sedentary. No prior experience or special skills are required, and lifting is limited to under 2 pounds and very rare. While performing necessary tasks, workers have the ability to lie, stand, sit, or be in any comfortable position their injury or disability limits them to. Due to a flex-time schedule, the employee is able to work whatever hours desired and can take breaks as needed.

These telework positions offer a low stress environment and typically consist of business to business or customer service work to gather and verify information. The positions require no sales work, and the employer provides extensive training, support, and supervision. Expediter provides all necessary accommodations, including the installation of a business phone line and all other equipment.

Once employment begins, Expediter helps to carefully monitor the employee’s progress through a sophisticated billing and phone auditing system. This precise system ensures you that all work is being completed properly and determines if the employee should undergo additional training to meet the employer’s standards. Expediter maintains thorough employee records starting with each individual’s referral and continuing on through his or her employment.

The best part of Expedited Employment is that it is suitable for 98% of all injured individuals. Though the program might not be appropriate for all individuals, it is reassuring to know that there is a program to assist in almost any instance. Employees are placed in entry-level positions, most of which require little or no prior experience. Training is conducted initially and on an on-going, as-needed basis, and most requirements include everyday skills like reading and writing. Also, all positions are sub-sedentary, allowing the employee to work in any position in which he or she feels comfortable, which allows injured individuals with even the most restricting physical disabilities to return to work. Expediter also provides follow up and communication with treating and IME physicians to secure job approvals.

The Expedited Employment Program returns injured employees to work more quickly than traditional methods and benefits all parties involved. The injured worker has the satisfaction to return to work quickly to substantial, gainful employment in the accommodating atmosphere of his or her own home, and the carrier has a program offering guaranteed employment and an outlet for the most difficult of cases. And, although Expediter’s home office is located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, we are able to offer our unique program nation-wide, regardless of how remote your location may be. Currently, we are working with companies and injured individuals in 16 states. As long as phone service is available (cellular or local) and postal services are within a reasonable distance, we can provide employment to almost all injured individual.
